Joyce Yukawa is an assistant professor in the MLIS Program of St. Catherine University, teaching introduction to LIS, reference and information services, internet fundamentals and design, library user education, information seeking behavior, and qualitative research methods. Her teaching, research, presentations, and service draw upon interests in the blending of face-to-face and online interaction in librarianship and professional development, with a particular focus on social learning within communities of practice. She has had experience as a librarian in academic, public, and special libraries in the U.S. and Asia. She received her Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawai`i.
