Course Description
This course provides an overview of the functions and roles of libraries (including archives, special collections, and information centers), librarians, users, and information. Students will examine principles of legal and ethical topics in the library field as well as current professional issues and trends in a global information society. This course is the recommended first course for all MLIS students. 3 credits.
